The words "mother" and "father" will be removed from the forms for U.S. passports and replaced with a gender-neutral terms, said the State Department.
"The words were in the old form of 'mother' and 'father'," said Brenda Sprague, assistant director of the Secretariat of State for Passport Information. "Now I'm 'a parent' and 'two parent'."
